What 'trending' means here
Trending on TakeRank is not a chart of streams or sales. It is a snapshot of which albums the community is actually voting on right now. An album ends up on this page when a lot of people are choosing it (or rejecting it) in head-to-head matchups in the last week. The result is more honest than a play-count chart, because you only show up here if real listeners cared enough to compare you to something else.
Sometimes a new release blows up here. Sometimes a thirty-year-old classic gets rediscovered because one influential listener mentioned it on social media. Sometimes a deep-cut record from a small artist gets a surge because their fans organised. The page reflects all of that.
