Trending
The most-voted albums this week.
What 'trending' means here
Trending on TakeRank is not a chart of streams or sales. It is a snapshot of which albums the community is actually voting on right now. An album ends up on this page when a lot of people are choosing it (or rejecting it) in head-to-head matchups in the last week. The result is more honest than a play-count chart, because you only show up here if real listeners cared enough to compare you to something else.
Sometimes a new release blows up here. Sometimes a thirty-year-old classic gets rediscovered because one influential listener mentioned it on social media. Sometimes a deep-cut record from a small artist gets a surge because their fans organised. The page reflects all of that. It is the closest thing TakeRank has to a "what's hot right now" board, and unlike most of those boards, it updates from the bottom up rather than the top down.
Trending vs leaderboards
Trending shows what is moving now. The leaderboards page shows what has held up. If you want the canonical community ranking of the highest-rated albums on TakeRank, head over to the leaderboards - those lists only change when ratings genuinely shift, so they tend to be steadier and more authoritative.
This page is the better place to start if you want to find something to listen to today. The leaderboards are the better place to argue about what the best album of all time is.
